AirPods are available at a high price of just Rs 3,945!
Yeah, you read that right, you can get AirPods at just Rs 3,945 but they are from RealMe and not Apple. The company has launched its fourth pair of earphones and first truly wireless earbuds with the name ‘RealMe Buds Air’.
Since the launch a few days back they are in a lot of discussions. Not because of how good they sound but their resemblance with the AirPods. We have been using the pair for a few days and here are some of our thoughts.
Pros(advantages)
- Wireless Qi Charging
- Gaming mode works like a charm
- Great Design
- Seamless pairing
Cons(Disadvantages)
- In-call distortions
- Inefficient noise isolation
- Touch controls don’t work as expected
RealMe Buds Air features and design
Weighing just around 4 grams, the new RealMe Buds Air may remind you of the Apple Airpods. The resemblance is uncanny, and if they are side by side, you won’t be able to tell any difference. From the general in-ear fit to the overall aesthetic, you get the same feel as of the AirPods.
Let’s start from the case; the RealMe Buds Air box is made up of plastic and has a glossy finish on the exterior. The only noticeable difference between this case and AirPods case is the pairing button present in the RealMe case.
The pairing button in the middle of the case sits flush. The button is flimsy at best, and it’s a good thing that you won’t need to press it much more. It is only required when your pair to the earbuds for the first time and the other time is if and when you want to reset the earbuds..
The interior is made glossy also, which doesn’t make that of a difference. The RealMe box is a little bit taller and wider than the box that comes with Airpod.
RealMe Buds Air performance
If you have used any products from boAt, then you know that their music accessories are known for heavy bass, and that’s what Indian buyers want from their earphones. Unfortunately, RealMe Buds Air is miles away from offering similar experiences.
There is a 12 mm bass booster that does a decent job at normal volume levels and offers you crisp sound quality. But as the sound level increases to 100% the earbuds start to fails, the sound starts distorting, and the bass disappears.
Talking about the things done right, as I mentioned earlier the come with Google fast pair technology so the RealMe Buds Air pair as soon as you open the box. They hold a stable connection and has an excellent range. If we talk about the call quality, then I would say they fall somewhere between average and good.
There are two microphones on each piece, -one for call quality and other for noise cancellation. The sound quality was good during a call, but the listener at the receiving end complained about some distortion in the sound. The isolation from outside noise is also weak, and as a result, the call quality sometimes degrades.
There is also a gaming mode that reduces the sound delay at cost of quality while you are playing any game. I found the case to be true; the earbuds do offer better latency while gaming while you may notice a minor drop in the sound quality.
The earbuds carry a price tag of Rs 3,999 which is impressive to say. The brand has launched them intending to offer people with AirPods like earbuds, at least in looks. This is the reason why people would choose them first.
Unlike Apple, RealMe is generous enough that you can even buy a single earpiece separately it somehow you damage or lost the original. They also offer a separate case if the original gets damaged, so what else will you ask for. The earbuds come with three color options Black, Yello, and Basic White.
They are being sold via AMAZON- https://amzn.to/3cKVAXn and FLIPCART and currently are out of stock till the next flash sale. They are also available to buy from the company’s website.
